Tomcat Web Server Administration Tool

The Tomcat distribution comes with software that makes it easy to manage Tomcat and deployed applications. You can get to it from the initial page presented by Tomcat at

http://localhost:8080

You'll find it under "Tomcat Administration." A snapshot of it in action can be seen in Figure A.3.

You'll find that you can perform most administrative tasks easily with this tool. Most of the tasks discussed earlier in this appendix can be performed using the Tomcat Web Server Administration tool. For example, you can add and remove contexts without directly editing the server.xml file. It's worthwhile becoming familiar with all of the features of this tool.
