Acknowledgments

When I started writing this book, there was no way I could have ever predicted the impact it would have on my life. It's been an incredible experience, and I'd like to thank those who supported me in my efforts.

To begin, I'd like to thank Shelley Johnston, Damon Jordan, and all of the staff, technical, and copy editors at Sams Publishing who have worked tirelessly to make this book a reality. Without your support, guidance, and dedication, this book would not be here. I now am proud to call many of you more than business associates, but friends as well.

I'd also like to thank the members of the PHP community who have contributed so much of their time and talents to make the single best Web development language in the world todaywithout you, none of this would have ever happened.

Last, but without question not the least, I would like to thank my parents. Neither of you ever were really quite sure what I was doing sitting in front of the computer all the time, but both of you knew it was worthwhile. Thank you for giving me all the opportunities you did, the wisdom to take advantage of them, and the support to help me overcome the challenges they presented. I am where I am today because you both believed in me every step of the way. I love you both, and I can only hope I've lived up to the responsibility your faith in me deserves.
