Summary

With the knowledge you gained in this chapter, you should have enough of a fundamental understanding of PHP to understand the rest of the chapters in this book. Although you have not yet been introduced to all the "fundamental" data types and control structures (such as arrays and objects, which are covered in later chapters), what has been discussed already starts you off on the right foot. You must have a solid understanding of everything within this chapter to grasp the programs and concepts that follow. If you are still a bit shaky, I strongly recommend that you spend some extra time in this chapter before continuing.
