Appendix D. Good Programming Techniques and Performance Issues

IN THIS CHAPTER

Although reading all the chapters in this book should give you everything you need to understand PHP, no book can give you everything you need to be a good programmer. It is only through trials, failures, and experience that such a thing is learned. However, some common teachable aspects of good programmingwhich are valuablemake up the focus of this appendix.

In this appendix, we will speak in generalities. Although examples are provided, they are intended only as specific examples to a more general situation. Ultimately, it will be up to you as a developer to make good decisions about your programming. The point of this chapter is to open your eyes to everything involved in being a good programmer.
